About Me
My name is Dr. Ileana Oxley, Ph.D. and I began my career working in the pharmaceutical business working on clinical trials. I later obtained my Bachelor's of Professional Studies (BPS) from Barry University. I became interested in family systems after serving many years at our local church leading their divorce care and single parenting classes, so I returned to school several years later and graduated with my Master of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University in Marriage and Family Therapy. I continued my education earning a Ph.D. from Genesis University.
Additionally, I attended the International Institute of Clinical Sexology (IICS) and received my sex therapist certification.
I am licensed by The Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling and have worked mostly in private practice. I briefly worked for an addiction center running group sessions in between working for private practice firms and have experience counseling clients in all kinds of situations.
I am EMDR certified and regularly use this incredible therapy modality to treat trauma. It has been very effective for treating veterans, first responders including police officers, nurses, doctors, firefighters as well as those who suffered in natural disasters, and people of all ages 6 years old to the elderly who suffered various forms of trauma.
